Dedications (White Haven)
March 17 @ 3:00 pm
$25The Borodin String Quartet No. 2 and Webern Langsamer Satz were written as an expression of love for their wife: Borodin wrote the Second String Quartet as an anniversary gift for his wife 20 years after being engaged, and Webern was inspired to write the Langsamer Satz after falling in love with his future wife. Unlike the atonal and twelve-tone works Webern is most known for, the Langsamer Satz is a deeply romantic and sentimental work synonymous to the style of Borodin.
