What does America sound like? Two violins, a viola, and a cello set out to answer that question in music spanning over a century of American life. These free library concerts feature string quartet music by Charles Ives, Scott Joplin, Philip Glass, Samuel Barber, and Jessie Montgomery, tied together by the “American” Quartet, written by Antonín Dvořák, a visitor who heard something in this country that he simply had to put on paper.

No prior experience with classical music needed! Just bring your curiosity.
