Described by Time Out as, “Full of Herculean power,” cellist Miho Weber continues to excite audiences with her thought-provoking performances throughout the world. In New York, she has performed at Bargemusic, Carnegie’s Stern Auditorium and Weill Hall, Lincoln Center, Merkin Hall, Symphony Space, the Stone, Town Hall, and the United Nations. Miho’s recent chamber music projects have included collaborations with members of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and New York Philharmonic, the Glass Farm Ensemble, and Cre.Art Project. She has performed with the American Symphony, Chamber Orchestra of New York, Paragon Orchestra, String Orchestra of New York City, and Westchester Philharmonic. Her popular engagements have included a performance with Imagine Dragons on Saturday Night Live and Josh Groban at the US Open, as well as a concert celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the United Nations featuring Robert Davi, Kyi-Mani Marley, Geoffrey Oryema, and Robin DiMaggio. She has recorded for Innova, Naxos, and the Eroica Classical labels.
Miho has held residencies at the Aspen Music Festival, Banff Centre, and Schleswig-Holstein. Finishing her undergraduate studies at the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati, she spent a year abroad at London’s Royal Academy of Music. Miho earned her Masters of Music at Rice University with Lynn Harrell and her Doctorate of Musical Arts with Marcy Rosen at the CUNY Graduate Center, publishing her dissertation on Arensky’s Quartet in A Minor. She has also worked extensively with Leon Fleisher, Charles Neidich, and Mark Steinberg. Miho is the Lower Strings Teacher at the Riverdale Country School, a chamber music coach for the New York Youth Symphony, and has provided outreach concerts and coachings for the New York Pops and New York Philharmonic. During the summers, she has held positions at Blue Mountain Festival, Point CounterPoint, New York Summer Music Festival, Odyssey Music Festival, and Summertrios.
