The Northeastern Pennsylvania Chamber Music Society proudly opens its 2018-2019 season with oboist, Rong-Huey Liu. Explore the unique oboe quartet repertoire from the light and quirky Oboe Quartet by Sir Malcolm Arnold, the delightful Mozart Oboe Quartet, to the fantastical Benjamin Britten Phantasy Quartet. Dr. Liu’s radiant oboe playing is not to be missed!

Masterclass with Rong-Huey Liu at Wilkes University

Join us for a presentation and masterclass with oboist, Rong-Huey Liu at Wilkes University! After a brief performance, Dr. Liu will work with area students and host a Q&A session.

As one of the most active oboists in Southern California, she performs extensively as a soloist; serves as principal oboist of the Long Beach Symphony, Reno Chamber Orchestra, Fresno Philharmonic, and Riverside County Philharmonic; has recorded on numerous high-profile recordings such as with Chris Botti, the Isley Brothers, and Andrew Bocelli; and has recorded for films such as “Fireflies in the Garden”, “Star Wars VIII”, “Lady Bird”, and “Ferdinand”. She is also oboe professor at California State University Fullerton School of Music, La Sierra University and Riverside City College Coil School for the Arts.
