NEPACMS opens their 2023-2024 concert season with a program weaving soulful and haunting melodies with boisterous and joyful exuberance. Highly regarded by contemporaries such as Robert Schumann, Kalliwoda was a violinist and prolific composer with great skill in blending symphonic structure with Czech flair. Followed by the unforgettably beautiful Trio élégiaque in G minor by Rachmaninoff, the program ends with the incomparable second piano quintet by Dvořák.
