The Opulent Oboe

The Northeastern Pennsylvania Chamber Music Society proudly opens its 2018-2019 season with oboist, Rong-Huey Liu. Explore the unique oboe quartet repertoire from the light and quirky Oboe Quartet by Sir Malcolm Arnold, the delightful Mozart Oboe Quartet, to the fantastical Benjamin Britten Phantasy Quartet. Dr. Liu’s radiant oboe playing is not to be missed!

Balancing Act

Open the new year with a special concert featuring the music of Baljinder Sekhon. Praised as “Clearly knowing the power of sonority” by the Philadelphia Inquirer, Sekhon’s works have garnered much acclaim especially for his pioneering works for the saxophone and percussion. Performing these works will be the saxophone and guitar duo, Duo Montagnard (Joseph Murphy, saxophone, and Matthew Slotkin, guitar). Formed in 2002, the duo has performed over 300 concerts in all 50 states, 8 Canadian Provinces, and 20 countries on 6 continents. They have commissioned and premiered forty pieces and have recorded five albums.

Duo Cello e Basso

NEPACMS is thrilled to highlight the double-bass and cello in a concert featuring the Duo Cello e Basso. Co-founders of Duo Cello e Basso are the husband and wife team, Pascale Delache-Feldman, double-bass, and Emmanuel Feldman, cello, both with extraordinary accomplishments and continuing successful careers. Revel in an evening filled with rarely performed works for double-bass and cello, including the lush Vaughn-Williams Piano Quintet, a relatively early work by Ralph Vaughn-Williams for piano, violin, viola, cello, and double-bass.
